EVAC CHAIR OPERATORS TRAINING COURSE

The Evac Chair Training Course provides the necessary information and training so that your organisation can comply with the Disabled Discrimination Act 2005 and Equality Act 2010.

The emphasis throughout is on the practical use of the chair on staircases within your premises. Candidates receive a short theoretical input on the use and care of the evac chair prior to an extended practical session..

Course content

Candidates will receive an input on:

 Introduction to Emergency Evacuation Plans

 Video on the safe use of the Evac Chair

 Theory on the use of the Evac Chair

 Practical use of the Evac Chair

 Limitations of use and safety considerations

 Management and siting advice of the Evac Chair

Roslin Safety Instructional staff will provide advice as to the suitability of all staff attending the

course. Where staff are not suitable to be deemed an evac chair operator organisations will be

advised in writing as to individual findings and development needs.

Course Duration

The evac chair course last for 2 ½ to 3 hours. The course duration is dependent on your staff being comfortable on the use of the chair, instructional staff will dedicate as much time as possible to ensure that your staff are competent but more importantly confident in using the evac chair.

Certification

Candidates will receive a certificate of attendance on successful completion of the course.

Prices

£200 excl. VAT (£240 incl. VAT) maximum of 4 staff members per session to allow sufficient practical experience with the evac chair to be gained by all candidates.

Fire Marshall

including practical fire extinguisher training

The course will present an understanding of current fire regulations in respect to the Fire Scotland Act 2005 and general fire precautions in the workplace and within the home. It aims to provide you with the knowledge to be become a fire marshal.

Course Duration

The Fire Marshall course last for 3 to 3 ½ hours.e than 12 staff.

Course content

Candidates will receive an input on:

•Action to be taken on discovering a fire

•Common causes of fire

•Fire drills and evacuation

•Fire safety legislation

•Fire safety precautions

•Smoke and fire travel through a building

•The role of Fire Marshall

•Portable fire extinguishers

Candidates will safely extinguish a controlled fire on our gas powered-training rig using a fire

blanket, water, foam and carbon dioxide extinguishers.

Fire Marshall Courses can be conducted on site where a suitable external space can be utilised for

the practical extinguisher training session. Alternatively, the course can be delivered at one of our

selected training venues within Edinburgh.

Certification

Candidates will receive a certificate of attendance form Roslin Safety on completion of the course.
